Denver is a grand city with many great neighborhoods. Stapleton Development with nearly 30% of land reserved for parks and open spaces will complement Denver's other well known neighborhoods such as Washington Park, Cheesman Park, Congress Park and City Park.

Stapleton will have an 80-acre "Central Park" as it's centerpiece. Bikeways and paths will run through Sand Creek and Westerly Creek Greenways. The community's extensive bike and trail system will link into the 17,000-acre Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. Also, a beautiful 18-hole golf course just north of I-70 that will be ready for play in 2007.

Some of Stapleton's open space system is already open and available for use. The 123-acre Bluff Lake Nature Center and the 23-acre Urban Farm are regularly used by schools for educational nature field trips. The 30-acre Fred Thomas Park is perfect for picnics or playing soccer. For inline skating fans Bladium Sports Club, formerly one of the Stapleton airport hangers, offers two inline skating rinks and extensive exercise opportunities.

Central Park
At the heart of the community's park system will be Stapleton's 80-acre Central Park located immediately east of the Stapleton Control Tower, the park is scheduled for completion in 2005.The Park spaces will include a stage, café, and play area, with accommodations for over 1,000 people for concerts and lectures. Large open grass areas will be ideal for young and old alike to enjoy the outdoors all year round. Whether, sledding down the hill in the winter or soccer matches or a quick game of Frisbee on a nice Colorado day.

Founders' Green
At the center of Stapleton's first neighborhood will be the 2.5-acre Founders' Green, located at the eastern end of the East 29th Avenue Town Center. When completed Founders' Green will feature a 500-person amphitheater, benches, fountain, walking paths, trees and manicured lawns.

Neighborhood Parks
Stapleton's neighborhood parks will features acres of green space including an Olympic size pool, play areas with picnic, and BBQ facilities. All within easy walking distance from the comfort of your Stapleton home.

Sand Creek and Westerly Creek Greenways
Sand Creek and Westerly Creek provide ponds and wetlands necessary for water surface drainage at Stapleton. In addition to wildlife habitats, the developed creek areas will offer great regional bikeways, as well as walking and equestrian trails.

Bluff Lake Nature Center
The Bluff Lake Nature Center is a 123-acre wildlife refuge located on the eastern edge of Stapleton. A great place to enjoy a walk and be one with nature, Bluff Lake provides a habitat for a variety of wildlife, including deer, fox, coyote, beaver, owls, waterfowl, hawks and migratory songbirds.

Urban Farm at Stapleton
The Urban Farm is a 23-acre community farm and environmental education facility located in Stapleton's Sand Creek Greenway. The Urban Farm offers educational programs in horseback riding, farming, gardening, cultivation and conservation of land and stream reclamation.

Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge
Just North of Stapleton is the 27 square mile Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. Home to wildlife of all kinds including deer, eagles, prairie dogs and hawks it is anticipated that Stapleton's trails and bike paths will offer direct access into this significant open space resource in the not to distant future.
